Cities, Towns and major trade villages of Izendorn:
Andorn:
Abandoned to the barbarians in 593, it has been the source of much speculation. It was thought lost to all but warring barbarians and goblins tribes by day, and undead by night. In 607, Chief Roc united the barbarian tribes under his banner. Some say the alliance will last for generations, others are not so certain. By the elves at Regency, Chief Roc is considered equivalent to a baron under Duchess Sandra Barreth.
Belladonna's Cavern
Belladonna's Cavern is named after the gypsy Belladonna. This cavern is the pass the gypsies used during the great sleep to transport food and other materials into the
In the snow-filled pass of the mountains between Galadore and Lanalor's Keep is a frontier mining colony where dwarves and dark elves share a tenuous co-existence within a wild and untamed wilderness, rich with mystery and danger.
Rumors of undead and necromancy surround the so-called evil castle. What is known for certain is that the castle exists. No one who has investigated further has mentioned the fact.
Galadore
Galadore, the capital city of
There is some confusion about the spelling of the name of the capital city. Some written works include the 'e' at the end but the modern spelling omits it. Either spelling is acceptable.
A lake originally filled by grief over a lost love has been the source of many stories. The wailing that echoes through the hills around the
Lanalor's Keep
The retired knight Lanalor was granted a duchy for his loyal service. In habit of defense of his people, he made this keep its seat. He also worked out alliances with the local barbarian tribes. Sometimes those alliances are uneasy, and lycanthropy has proven to make silver more valuable than gold and the nights interesting.
Monteblanc (Whitehill):
This once proud trading village a day's travel northeast of Oasis has been destroyed by warring orc tribes. Reclaimed by civilized forces in May of 606, it is now being rebuilt to regain its former standing. In accordance with it's elven heritage, it was renamed Monteblanc in 609 by permission of Duchess Althaea. Some maps still have the village marked as Whitehill, as do the histories recording its recovery.
Oasis
In a protective bubble (2 miles in radius), the Oasis is a world within a world. While some adventurers have been concerned that their strength is sapped by entering the dome, most of the beings in residence there are of similar power. This junction between the mortal world and that of the fae is ruled by Queen Althaea of the Oasian Seelie Court, Duchess of Oasis, and her cousin, Queen Atropa of the Oasian Unseelie Court..
The balance between fae courts and now mortals create interesting opportunities for epic adventures. Stories of phoenixes, knights, sorceresses and speaking storms fill the nights at Oasis, while the days are filled by...other things.
Ranger Post:
Along the river and mountain borders that mark the boundary of Izendorn, as well as the line between the Oasian and Crossing Duchies, the Ranger Post was cleared and built by Decklin dar Mandra who used it as a base for training scouts for both cities. Though the founder has since taken his permanent death, the camp and training continue.
Regency
The former Summer Court and hunting lodge of the sleeping king, this area has been re-built to be the seat of government for Prince Irilonde, pulled from the edge of the Galadore by a team posting warnings at the border in late 606. The Prince named the village that houses his court in affirmation of his intentions to awaken his father and return the kingdom to its former ruler.
Starlen's Crossing
The town originally was a trade village called the Crossing because of it's proximity to the pass through the eastern mountains. It was renamed to honor the generosity of the merchant who paid to build up one of his way-stops. This town of scavengers is further populated my merchants and craftsmen who have found comfort among others who value their work and always having a caravan willing to carry their goods handy. It was named the duchal seat of the Sydina in 607.
Talosi
The once ruined town has been reclaimed and rebuilt. The local problems with orcs and trolls that led the town first to ruins have been fended off and structures built to keep the slowly returning farmers and craftsman safe.
