Ø      Divisions and By-laws:

Ø      Guild Divisions:  There are many skills and crafts, Please check with the Guild a listing.  Level requirements are general and vary by master.

 

Ø      By-laws:

o       Joining:

§         Individuals must show at least apprentice level aptitude in their chosen skill or craft.  Those without such need to be accepted by a teacher and will be considered a Tyro until apprentice level is reached.  Then they may apply for the level/title of apprentice.

§         Individuals will be interviewed by the Guild master, Craft Master or Master Ranked Guild member as assigned.

§         Guild members must have a residence within the Crossing or in the surrounding area. 

§         Noble status does not preclude membership within the Guild. 

§         Nobles from other lands will be reviewed for membership on an individual application.

o       Rankings:

§         In the primary field of chosen craft or skill: Members will be listed as Apprentice, Journeyman, or Master/Mistress

§          If a member chooses to be listed with secondary craft or skill, (s)he will be listed at rank with the phrase “Also Available”

o       Responsibilities:

§         Dues: 3 gold per year (pro-rated)

§         Members must be willing to provide teaching to others within their primary division at little or no cost. 

§         The Guild will be owed one silver or 1% of any contracts received from/though the Guild.  Members must give priority to commissions orders from other members

 

o       Privileges:

§         Market days: Members receive first priority for booths and stalls at market gatherings (the cost of the booths are covered by dues)

§         A listing of all Guild members and their skills will be maintained by the Guild.  It will be available for inquiries about commissioned works or other jobs.

§         Teaching will be provided by Guild members to other members at minimal or no cost.  Teaching requests with no available teachers within the Guild will be remedied at the Guild’s discretion and expense. 

§         Housing: If the member’s residence is sufficiently inconvenient for sleeping during a market day, then the Guild will give priority to members for housing during the gathering. Fee will be waived.     

o       Cooperation with other Izendorn Guilds:

§         Booths: Members of other kingdom Guilds will be given second priority and only charged half the price (five silver per day) for booths during market days.

§         Housing: Members of other kingdom Guilds will be given second priority for housing during market gatherings.  The fee will be one gold per night, per party of five or less. 

o       Non-members/any who are not a member of an Izendorn Guild

§         Can be charged for teaching by Guild members at the member’s discretion.

§         Pay full price for booths at market gatherings (one gold per day) and are not given priority. 

§         Will be rented housing during market gatherings, and will pay a fee of one gold per night per party of five or less. 

o       Legal Notes:

§         Misrepresentation as a Guild member by non-Guild members in order to gain privileges shall result in prosecution under the law as theft, by the Starlens Merchant Guild.

§         Disputes on commissions that result in property loss, damage, or other loss shall be prosecuted under the appropriate laws of Izendorn. Barrister services will be provided by the Guild for its members.  Guild members are requested and strongly advised (required in some cases) to keep commission/contract books or only take commissions/contracts offered though the Guild.  (Without such records: The Guild may favor the injured party over a Guild Member, as legal precedents dictate.)
