The Order of the Silver Quill

1.      I shall strive to protect the people of the land in which I reside.

                                                              i.       This shall be my first duty though it cost me my life.

ii.      This is not a call to risk life stupidly.  Strive wisely and with an understanding of the interplays of battle.

iii.      Should I ever turn against the people of my home, I shall submit myself to the local legal authorities for judgment.

2.      I shall uphold the laws of the land in which I reside.

                                                              i.      I shall learn the laws so that I may be able to be a proper advocate or judge in a trial.

ii.      If, in the protection of people and land, I break the law, I shall submit myself to the local legal authorities for judgment.

3.      The creation of undead is considered a high crime for the members of this order even in lands in which such is legal.

4.      I shall strive to educate those whose steps along their path are just beginning.

                                                              i.      I shall not refuse teaching to another without worthy justification.

ii.      I shall not exact payment to teach others the basic skills of self-defense.

5.      I shall strive to see that the children of the land in which I reside have access to training in defense and a trade.

6.       I shall show courtesy to commoners and nobles alike until or unless they prove themselves unworthy of it.

7.      Though I may be a traveler, I shall ensure that Starlen’s Crossing is always protected by this order, as this is our first home, and our honor lies here.

8.      My loyalty and honor are with Starlen’s Crossing, my home, and thus my home plane.  I shall undergo no transformative ritual or quest that would change that allegiance.

9.      I shall not be a burden to my fellows, and shall strive to provide aid to them when needed.

                                                              i.      In battle, I shall have at least basic skill in manual defense and healing.

ii.      I shall have means to support myself, though the order will provide housing for its members in Starlen’s Crossing.

iii.      While my coin is my own, any goods of defensive or offensive use gained as treasure in battle shall be offered without expectation of payment to other order members, or put in an order repository of such supplies before being sold for coin.

10.  Should I ever break my code, I shall submit myself to the first knight of the order for judgment (The first knight would submit to the elder sage and second knight jointly.), in addition to submitting myself to the local legal authorities when relevant.
